In this project GBA were instructed to convert an agricultural shed to holiday accommodation.

The agricultural building is in a prominent location on the A487, it is of historical importance to the clients and cultural importance to agriculture in the Preseli area. The outbuilding is constructed almost entirely from sinusoidal mental sheeting, a feature which is unique to handful of buildings in the Preseli area, such as the famous Tafarn Sinc in Rosebush. Given the unique design, cultural and historical importance of the building, the clients wished to gain permission to convert the shed to secure its future.

GBA undertook a measured survey of the shed and prepared detailed proposed drawings, with the primary aim of enhancing the building for holiday occupation while retaining its character. The project also involved the construction of a car port for bat mitigation.

The proposals gained the support of Carmarthenshire County Council Planning Committee and was granted planning permission in February 2020. Building Regulation drawings were summitted and approved in July 2020 and works commenced shortly afterwards. The project was completed in late 2021 and has been operating successfully since.
